Your incident summary
Edit →

On April 17, 2026 at approximately 03:17 UTC, 4.82 BTC and 61.4 ETH were transferred from my Binance hot wallet to an unknown destination without my authorization. I did not initiate or sign any such transactions. My account credentials have not been compromised — no unknown logins in the past 30 days, no API keys I haven't created myself, and 2FA is active. Binance confirmed the outflow originated from their operational signing keys, not mine.

Important notes
Exchange must be linked
Coverage only applies while Binance remains linked via Cryp-Sure. If you delink, coverage pauses immediately.
30-day notification window
Claims must be notified within 30 days of discovering the loss. Late notifications may be declined.
Market risk is not covered
Price drops, trading losses, and normal market volatility are excluded. Only exchange-caused failures are covered.
Self-directed error is not covered
Lost passwords, wrong addresses you typed yourself, phishing attacks on your own account fall outside policy scope.

What's covered

The 9 categories of loss your Cryp-Sure-EX policy protects against
Cryp-Sure-EX covers exchange-caused losses only. Every category below is a failure on Binance's side — not on yours. You cannot be blamed for a custody breach, a platform outage, or a UI that showed you wrong information.
My crypto was lost or stolen from the exchange
Custody & safekeeping
$100,000
Hot wallet breach, HSM failure, key management error, fund segregation issue. Covers loss of your crypto from Binance's custody systems.
A trade went wrong
Transaction & settlement
$50,000 / txn
Wrong execution price, duplicated trade, incorrect settlement, ledger divergence between what you see and what Binance recorded.
A deposit or withdrawal failed
Deposit & withdrawal
$50,000 / txn
Failed or delayed withdrawal, incorrect deposit, memo-based deposit failure on chains like XRP or XLM.
The exchange was down when I needed it
Platform outage
Duration threshold
Outage caused inaccessible balances, missed withdrawals, or forced liquidations. Must exceed 15 minutes of unavailability.
A price feed, bank transfer, or partner service failed
Third-party integration
Case by case
Oracle failure, price feed malfunction, fiat on-ramp partner outage. Covered when it's the exchange's responsibility to verify.
The app showed me wrong information
UI / interface error
Often auto-paid
Misleading display, broken confirmation, fee or slippage misrepresentation. Small losses under $500 typically pay out automatically.
My position was force-closed by the exchange
Auto-deleveraging (ADL)
Rules-based
Incorrect risk calculation, wrong account ranking, excessive deleveraging. Applies to derivatives positions closed by the exchange's risk engine.
My position was liquidated wrongly or at the wrong price
Liquidation failure
$50,000 / txn
Missed margin call, skipped liquidation, materially wrong liquidation price vs. reference market.
I lost money because of problems that followed an outage
Cascading outage
Link to outage
Outage-linked balance errors, stale margin data, post-outage reconciliation losses. Must be traceable to a qualifying outage event.
What's not covered
Market losses — price drops, bad trades, normal volatility
Your own mistakes — wrong address, lost password, phishing
Unauthorised account access via your own compromised credentials
Rug pulls, scams, or losses from non-Binance wallets
Regulatory seizures, government-ordered freezes
Losses before policy inception date (Sep 8, 2025)
