Cryp-Sure exists because crypto insurance was being built by insurance people with no crypto experience, or by crypto people with no insurance experience. The team here is both — three decades of insurance leadership alongside deep, operational time inside the blockchain industry.
John Morley
Nearly thirty years of international insurance experience across the world’s largest insurers, reinsurers, brokers, and advisors. John brought the team together to build, in his words, the services the crypto community was owed rather than the ones traditional insurance felt comfortable selling them.
“Energised to provide these much-needed services to the crypto community and its clients.”
John Souter
Twenty-six years in insurance and reinsurance — building finance functions for start-ups, VC-backed fast-growers, and mature multinationals. At Swiss Re, John worked in rating-agency capital, led a major post-merger finance integration across Europe, and ran financial reporting, planning and analysis, and capital and balance-sheet management.
Marie-Francine Richard
Twenty years helping companies realise the value of their CRM systems — starting with her first Salesforce implementation in 2003. Roles have spanned in-house CRM leadership, global consultancy, and time at Salesforce itself. Has worked across the US, Canada, Switzerland, and Singapore, running programmes where the real work is aligning diverse teams and building governance that actually holds.
A qualified actuary credentialled across Europe and Asia-Pacific. Two decades across primary insurers and reinsurers as a consultant, fulfilling regulatory actuarial requirements in multiple jurisdictions. At Cryp-Sure, responsible for the risk and actuarial function — maintaining capital levels, overseeing annual actuarial reporting, and ensuring compliance with Labuan and Luxembourg regulatory standards as the business expands.
An underwriting and analytics leader with fifteen-plus years across the UK and Asia-Pacific general-insurance markets. Career focused on transforming underwriting performance, portfolio strategy, and digital capability across personal lines and commercial P&C. Most recently CUO at one of the world’s largest P&C insurers, running one of the region’s most active portfolios.
Fifteen-plus years in financial markets, seven of them focused entirely on blockchain. Career spans financial-services consultancy at PwC, KPMG, and Fides Equity Partners, a managing-partner role at Lakeshore Advisors (a Swiss family office), and from 2018 onward exclusive work in crypto — through Blocksmatter, an early blockchain research and advisory firm, and then as a partner at Aaro Capital. Shapes the strategic direction and technical integration of Cryp-Sure’s products.
Why this team, this structure
Insurance for crypto has been attempted twice before — once by traditional carriers bolting digital-asset endorsements onto existing lines, and once by crypto-native projects improvising insurance without underwriting discipline. Both approaches produced products that paid out unpredictably, priced risk incorrectly, and failed when tested.
Cryp-Sure is structured to avoid both failure modes. The insurance leadership is career insurance — decades inside Swiss Re, global brokers, multinational carriers. The blockchain leadership is career blockchain — eight years operational, not a consultant’s brief. The actuarial and underwriting functions are independent and regulated. And the technology isn’t marketing spin; it’s the infrastructure that actually settles claims.
That combination is why the product works, and why it’s running today.
